Surrounding area analysis
I started observing two area’s surrounding the Pirate Castle: Regent's Canal and Camden town. Analysing and mapping everything from sounds, feelings, activities and observations.
Concept
Camden
Regent's Canal
Dramatic
Artistic
Hard
Calm
Spiritual
Soft
If you think of The Pirate Castle as a starting point and then imagine covering it with a box made of mirrors. Think of all the observations close and from a far that would be reflected in the different sides of the castle. I have based my concept on two sides of the castle, the spiritual and calm regents canal vs the more dramatic and crowded Camden town. From my journey through Regents Canal and strolling the streets of Camden, I have observed the calmness and the drama. I therefore want to create an experience of this in the Pirate Castle. Some elements of drama, feelings of calmness and also unite them.

Location: Basement floor

With the design of this room I wanted to bring the light into the space, for the children to enjoy the outside surroundings and get new impulses. As well as creating a circulation that would work for them.
Yoga room
Location: Ground floor

This room is designed with the intention of peace and quite. It is opened up with a new glass extension to bring the light in, as well as expand the view of the nature. It is intended to be a space where visitors can clear their minds after a long day.
